​Act on the Rights and Status of a Patient (17.8.1992/785) requires us to provide information to patients about their health, care and its effects as well as any other matter in relation to their care so that the patient understands the content of the said information sufficiently. If medical personnel cannot speak the language the patient uses or is not understood because of a sensory or speech impairment, interpretation should be arranged where possible.
