​​​​Dining options ​​for patients

Meal service prepares breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper for the patients while they are in hospital.
Lunch and dinner include hot main course, salad and dessert. If you prefer, you may also go to one of the cafeterias using a meal ticket you can get in the ward. Wards have also a snack available.

Food is prepared in compliance with a five-week menu. Most patients can have normal hospital meals. In addition to the basic menu, we serve a variety of special diets including structurally altered diets, gluten-free diet, vegan diet and different kinds of allergy and intolerance diets.

Personnel and visitors are welcome to our cafeterias for a meal.

You can pay for your meal by cash or bank card. Menus are pinned to cafeteria noticeboard and on meal service webpage.

Student dining options

Clinical phase medical students, other university students and university of applied sciences students.

Students are entitled to a meal subsidy and get a discount by showing their student card (SYL card) or student association membership card.
Medical students need to wear their personal name tag proving they are clinical phase medical students.

Students can get meal subsidy discount at Restaurants Kotka, Lokki, Kielo and Von Bagh.

Dessert is not included in the student meal.

Cafeterias, OYS

Hospital cafeterias lie in the entrance to the hospital (Outpatient Unit G, K, N, S and LA). The cafeterias in the entrances to Outpatient Unit, K, S and A5 are open from Monday to Friday. Cafeteria Neilikka in Entrance N is open also over the weekend.
Cafeterias serve coffee, fruit, meals and salads, sandwiches, bread rolls and other baked goods as well as magazines, newspapers and some personal care products.  Veikkaus, Finnish gaming company, service locates at Cafeteria Neilikka in Entrance N.
